How to manage those who weren’t laid off

Last week, I had the unfortunate pleasure of traveling with U.S. Airways a couple of times.

Tucked away in the small planes (complete with paint peeling, broken AC, and the occasional discourteous staff member), I found a very useful article in the in-flight magazine. Perhaps it’s because I’m currently enrolled in an organizational leadership course, or because my agency’s seen some layoffs in 2009, but whatever the reason, I found this to be super interesting and informative:

“After layoffs, help survivors be more effective.”

I hate layoffs! I hope that they aren’t skimping on maintainance of the entire planes!
